About Yvonne Chalker
Yvonne Chalker was born in Thomson, Georgia in 1957. Ms. Chalker is a
1984 graduate of Loyola law school where she served as a member of the
Loyola Law Review. She joined Elkins, P.L.C. as “of counsel”
in 2003. In that capacity, Ms. Chalker’s main focus of practice
is in the area of pre- and post-trial motions, writs and appeals. Ms.
Chalker’s extensive appellate experience has involved the representation
of clients in appeals before the First, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Circuit
Louisiana Courts of Appeal, the U.S. Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Courts
of Appeals, and the Louisiana Supreme Court. Ms. Chalker also works with
members of the firm on commercial litigation matters, both prosecuting
and defending contractual disputes, suits to enforce copyrights, trademarks,
tradenames, and service marks, actions to enforce creditors’ rights
in bankruptcy proceedings, and actions to prevent unfair trade practices
and other forms of unfair competition. Ms. Chalker additionally participates
in commercial transactions with members of the firm representing developers
in a wide range of matters, including, the acquisition, ownership, development
and management of a variety of commercial real estate ventures. |
