About Shawn J. Richard
Mr. Richard was born in Thibodaux, Louisiana, in 1970. His primary practice focuses on real estate transactions. Prior to joining Elkins, P.L.C. Mr. Richard was the managing partner of a multi-office law firm located in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, and also was an associate at a multi-office law firm located in North Carolina.

Mr. Richard has extensive experience in representing developers in both the residential and commercial development arenas, including development of mixed-use and residential condominium developments, flex warehouse space, commercial business parks and residential subdivisions. Mr. Richard has extensive experience in the areas of commercial leasing having represented both lessors and lessees, as well as the documentation of secured transactions having represented both national financial institutions and commercial borrowers.

Mr. Richard also has experience with Louisiana entities from formation to advising their day to day operations, as well as advising on contractual matters.
