About Paul Simoneaux
Paul Simoneaux was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1963. Upon graduation from LSU, Mr.
Simoneaux joined a Houston commercial bank predecessor of Bank of America working first as
a credit analyst and then as a commercial loan officer. After graduating from law school,
Mr. Simoneaux worked at a large, regional law firm based in New Orleans and joined Elkins,
P.L.C. for the first time in 1997. He left in 2001 to serve as the General Manager of a
specialty finance company which developed new and expanded funding sources, experienced 50%
revenue growth and expanded its operations into Texas under his direction.
Mr. Simoneaux rejoined the firm in 2006 and has resumed his practice representing developers
in a wide variety of complex, real estate development projects. He has experience in the
acquisition, ownership, development, leasing and financing of hotels, apartments, condominiums,
retail commercial space, restaurants, and mixed-use developments. Additionally, he has counseled
clients in real estate transactions using a variety of financing sources, including bonds,
federal tax incentives such as the historic rehabilitation tax credit and the new markets tax
credit, and mixed public/private financing..
Mr. Simoneaux has also represented major commercial banks and finance companies
in loan transactions, work out matters and litigation, and has assisted clients in the acquisition
and sale of businesses.
